Job Title: New Business Account Handler -Hampshire -Up to £20,000 plus commission
Our client is a leading Commercial Insurance Broker who is looking for a New Business Account Handler. If you have experience dealing with Factories, Warehouses, Industrial Units, Shops, Property, Liability, Goods in Transit, Cargo, Motor Fleet or Professional Indemnity, please apply. You will be rewarded with an uncapped commission structure.
You will be responsible for:
• Obtaining new Commercial lines insurance clients through prospecting and referrals from existing clients.
• Taking instructions/discuss customer requirements involving client visits as required for provision of insurance cover from new Commercial prospects.
• Prepare presentations to Insurers, input details online or telephone for quotes as appropriate.
• Reviewing clients’ insurance needs and making presentations and recommendations based on information gathered.
• Issuing hold covered letters, cover notes (computerised or manual) and policy documents checking for accuracy prior to issue.
• Dealing with mid-term policy queries, issue endorsements where applicable.
• Re-broke renewals if increase in premium unacceptable and relay results to customer to enable decision to be made making recommendations accordingly.
• Manage own files/dead correspondence as per procedures manual.
• Take details of claims notified and report to insurers.
• Monitor progress of claims and ensure conclusion. Forward all correspondence to insurers and any claims cheques to customers. Record details on file.
Knowledge required:
• Thorough understanding of FSA regulations and guidelines relating to Commercial and Retail customers.
• Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of products and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internally and externally.
• Knowledge of company Procedures Manual.
Skills required:
• Be able to apply own judgement and experience when making decisions or giving advice to clients, including when to refer to colleagues.
• Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
• Ability to develop and sustain relationships with customers, working under pressure when necessary.
• Keyboard skills including MS Word and Windows.
